Is This Louis Vuitton’s Ugliest Collaboration Yet? Share Your Thoughts!

High fashion luxury brand Louis Vuitton launched a new range of handbags and accessories in collaboration with American artist Jeff Koons.

Jeff Koons, an American artist, known for working with popular culture subjects and his reproductions of banal objects—such as balloon animals produced in stainless steel with mirror-finish surfaces infused imagery from popular art masterminds for Louis Vuitton in this collaboration.

The collaboration, called the Masters Collection,  features paintings from Vincent Van Gogh and Leonardo da Vinci, as well as works by Rubens, Titian and Jean-Honoré Fragonard as back grounds of the bags alongside the usual Louis Vuitton monogoram and design aesthetics.

The overall effect of this gives a riotous, busy and ugly effect in my opinion and is so ove the top, it exposes in all its detail the mechanism that underlies our obsessive consumption of luxury goods.

Take a look.
